Kentucky punks Teenage Rehab have announced that they have taken some time away from touring and doing a lot of shows to concentrate on a new album for 2012. The band has churned out their own brand of punk rock since 1998 and one thing is clear at this point; they’re doing it because they love it and will continue to do so as long as it’s fun for them. This seems to definitely be the case more than ever.
Check out more of what the band had to say:
2011 was our first year to not go out and do a bunch of live shows and tours, instead we focused a whole year on the writing process of our upcoming 2012 full length and I can assure you Teenage Rehab is stronger than its ever been before and we’re having a lot of fucking fun! We’ve rehearsed almost ever week for the last year on these new songs and we’re ready to go out and add these new songs to the set list full of old songs!
We’re officially entering Loud & Clear Studios (where we did “Goodbye Sanity” and “Abuse Your Solution” along with The Queers “Back To The Basement”) with Shelby P. and Allan Ramsey on 2″ analog tape this month to record. We’ve got 25 new songs that range from our usual fast, black flag inspired punk , to reggae and a bit of “Stooges” esque rock n roll. It will be a cool record. We plan to have the album out on vinyl and digitally by summer 2012, followed by a good couple of tours, music videos, interviews and all the fun shit that comes with a new album. Make sure to keep your finger on the pulse for Teenage Rehab this year as we’re discussing a tour of Italy, a tour of the US, a FREE digital sampler with some unreleased songs, another 7″ EP and a full length record.
Teenage Rehab also joined in on the recording of 2010′s The Queers Back To The Basement with drummer Alex playing on the whole album while Danny and Thomas make guest appearances throughout the record.
So there you have it. Head over to all their social media sites and make sure you pester them to play your town so you’re not missed when these guys are on the road. Also check out some of their other albums and get stoked for this new release.
